About Latimer
We’re a bunch of ordinary people who have been rescued by an extraordinary God.
Though we don’t deserve it, we know the living God and are known by him. This changes everything! And it’s all because of Jesus, who he is and what he’s done. At Latimer Church, we are really keen to see more and more people come to know Jesus and follow him as we do.
Our Vision: Growing to the Glory of God
Our prayer is that we would keep growing in our love for God who has saved us, and keep growing in number as more and more people come to know this God through Jesus. The reason we want to grow, is so that God is praised and in the way that he is due.

We are so thankful that God has shown his extraordinary love for us by sending his Son Jesus to die on a cross for us, while we were still sinners. In response to God’s mercy and forgiveness, we love Jesus by obeying his word the Bible, and by loving one another as God’s family. It is our goal to see lives transformed by God and His Spirit as we hear God speak to us through the pages of the Scriptures, and as we love one another as God’s people, giving ourselves to acts of service.
-
Ōtautahi is the city God has placed us in, and so we want to love our city by calling on all people everywhere to come to know the grace, forgiveness, and life that God offers them freely in Jesus. We desire to see people all over the city, all over Aotearoa, and all over the world, transformed by the good news of Jesus.
Our staff team
Latimer is a place where we all work together to do the task God has given us to make disciples of Jesus. We believe that God has given each one of his people gifts and opportunities to serve and work in the building up of God’s people and his kingdom.
The main role of our staff team is to teach the Bible, pray for people, and equip people to serve, as they lead our church to grow for the glory of God.

Ministry Apprentices
Jesus said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” – Matthew 9:37-38
The aim of Ministry Apprenticeships at Latimer Church is to help meet this great need for workers – men and women who give themselves to the task of proclaiming Jesus. The Ministry Apprenticeship is a training partnership between the local church and the apprentice, as we work together to train and develop the next generation of gospel workers.
